Ladies and gentlemen, this is Mike Gabbard and his family, and that very daughter is "the last true liberal" Tulsi Gabbard herself (who's now a full-blown conservative and a foreign asset, but hey.) They belong to a very disturbing, abusive, crazy cult called "Science of Identity" built on literally worshipping its founder, a creep called Chris Butler as a demi-god, and is weirdly centered around virulent homophobia (the guy is known for loving to use homophobic slurs) for some reason. Mike is an ardent follower and Tulsi grew up and was homeschooled in it as she was being groomed for politics.
Say what you want about trump, I think if Tulsi had been elected, this country would have been a lot weirder

I love how thoughtful and respectful the conversation is. The call to empathy, to seeing that the experience of exclusion and discrimination is always painful and the desire for equal treatment is universal. I really appreciated both people in this conversation so much. This is how it CAN be!

This ad is correct. We didn’t listen, and we opened the door to weird marriages.
For centuries, kings, queens, princess and princesses married all sorts of people, including relatives sometimes a little too close in their bloodline. It was all about the alliances, whether or not they held up over time. Zsa Zsa Gabor's first of nine marriages came in 1935, and Donald Trump's first of three (plus various affairs) started in 1977. Thus, there is a rich tradition of weird marriages predating the modern era.

The commercial was Tulsa gabbard's father and she was in it she's a part of the cult.
1998, she was only 17 in the ad and looks as though she didn't have much of a say if she was forced to be in the advert for her Republican father back then.
There is audio of her on a gay slur rant, she hasn't changed. She only flipped from R to D, because Hawaii is a blue state, and that decision wasn't hers, it was Chris Butler's. I grew up in the same cult, and the only way she can be trusted is if she comes out against Butler, because he would never let her do that.

I could ignore and forgive her life before she was an adult and even before she was a politician. Her comments and actions as a legislator are disgusting even in the context of 2004. She exhibited a deeply ingrained and emotional attitude toward gay folk - with all the bombast and cruelty of Falwell and his ilk. Trust me, Clinton's disingenuous and political dodge on gay marriage doesn't quite have the same feel as opposing not only gay marriage but attacking efforts to alleviate antigay bullying in schools with such vitriol and such language? Bush wasn't using terms like 'homosexual extremists' - so-called 'Compassionate Conservatism' was all the rage in 2004, making her scorched-earth rhetoric even more jarring from a Democrat legislator. Gabbard shouldn't have started her 2020 campaign with a editorial on 'religious freedom' aimed at building her right wing appeal. She should've started it with a throat clearing and a apology.
